Girls Swimming

Welcome to 2017 “Huskies” Girls Swimming and Diving Season!

Who are we?

We are a co-op team of 4 schools from St. Anthony Village, DeLaSalle, St. Agnes and St. Croix Lutheran.

What are the goals of our program?

To improve one’s swimming conditioning or diving ability, to cultivate great friendships and team unity, to promote sportsmanship, leadership, personal growth and to have great fun!

Who is eligible to join the team?

Grades 7-12 (Varsity and Junior Varsity).

When does the season begin?

Preseason practice starts Monday, August 14 at St. Anthony High School pool.   During the school year practice runs from 4-6 pm.  Athletes are expected to be at all practices and assigned meets except for an illness or school sponsored event.  Please note that both JV and Varsity will have scheduled practices during MEA (10/19-10/21).

When does the season end?

Junior Varsity: 10/31, Section Team: 11/11, State Qualifiers: 11/17.

Are there tryouts?

There are no scheduled tryouts. Both Varsity and Junior Varsity athletes practice together and compete at the same swim meets.

What skills should I have?

Swimmers should have a basic understanding of Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle and should be able to swim 2 continuous lengths of the pool (50 yards), rest briefly and repeat.  Divers need to execute the six basic dives.

Where do we practice?

Swimmers practice at St. Anthony Village High School (3303 33rd Ave. NE, St. Anthony, MN 55418).  Divers practice at a different location to be announced at a later date.

During the school year, how do I get to the pool for practice

DeLaSalle transports their swimmers after school to St. Anthony Village (one way). St. Agnes and St. Croix Lutheran do not provide transportation. Car pool arrangements are often made.

Is there transportation for “Away” meets?

Yes, a bus will leave St. Anthony Village, lower parking lot for away meets and return to St. Anthony.  After the meet, athletes may elect to leave with a parent as long as the athlete “signs out” on a posted sheet before the last event of the meet.   Buses are generally not available for Saturday invites.

Do I need a physical exam?

Yes, a “MSHSL Sports Qualifying Physical Examination Clearance Form” signed by your doctor is required every 3 years. An athlete must have this form on record at her school before August 14 (no exceptions). Physical forms may be obtained through or from your AD.

How do I sign up for the team?

First… contact the Athletic Department at your school to sign up. They will instruct you to complete the necessary forms.

Second… attend the preseason meeting… 8/7 at St. Anthony High School at 6:30 PM to gain valuable information about the season!

Still unsure about joining the team?

Be sure to attend the meeting on 8/7 and… feel free to contact Coach Amy anytime with additional questions.

What is our web site? The swimming page is located under the “Fall Sports” tab.

Last but not least… please forward your name, email and telephone number to Coach Amy at  She will send you additional information about the picnic and upcoming season!

We are excited to meet you and welcome you to our team!
