The Huskies are excited to welcome Jeff Williams as its new head girls tennis coach.  Williams spent a year as the team’s assistant coach before stepping into the head coach position this week.  Williams takes over for Ellie Kantar who was recently hired as a teacher in Hawaii.  Kantar was a great coach and will be missed, the team now looks forward to the opportunity to work with Williams on the courts this season.
Williams played high school tennis at Minneapolis Southwest, serving as captain and earning All-Conference status during his senior year. While in high school and college, Williams spent four years as lead instructor for KidSpeed Tennis at Webber Park.
Jeff graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, and currently works as a Behavior Resource for the Minneapolis Public Schools. He enjoys playing tennis, basketball, and chess during free time.
The preseason girls tennis meeting with Williams will be on Monday, August 7th at 6:30pm, beginning in the HS/MS auditorium.  The tennis season begins on Monday, August 14th.
Jeff is happy to answer any SAVHS girls tennis questions at jmwilliams35@gmail.com or (612)220-5420
