Congratulations to Bonnie Zeller, 2017 Athena Award Recipient!!

Bonnie was honored Friday, May 5 at a banquet held at the Double Tree Hotel in Bloomington.

Athena, a goddess of Greek mythology, was chosen as the symbol of this outstanding young women athlete award. Athena was brave and dauntless. Bonnie is described by her coaches as passionate and positive, always encouraging her teammates, being a leader on and off the court and is “the perfect example of a multi – sport student-athlete.”  She truly embodies what the Athena Award is meant to be.

Zeller is a three sport athlete – Volleyball, Basketball and Track and Field.  She is a four time letter winner in Basketball, a captain, All Conference Honorable Mention and selected as the Most Efficient Player.  In Volleyball she was a two year starter and selected as Academic All State. Finally, on the track, she was a 2 year Varsity Letter Winner and received All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Bonnie will continue her education next year at Wheaton College where she will will turn her Huskies uniform to a Thunder uniform on the basketball court.  She is undecided on her major but plans to minor in Spanish.

St. Anthony Village High School wants to wish Bonnie all the best in her future endeavors!
